Identification: The best way to identify a Spotted Bass is in the upper jaw, which does not extend past the eye. Some other ways to identify it are the dorsal and soft dorsal fins are connected, and there is a toothy patch on their tongue. Spotted Bass also have black spotted lines on their bellies.

Size: up to eleven pounds, around here anything three and a half is a trophy

Habitat: most of central and northern California
